Usecases

Al Madinah Health Directory

As the city continues to expand and grow, it becomes more important to provide residents and visitors with a clear and transparent view of available healthcare services. A crowd-sourced Health Directory would act as  a social engagement site allowing users to post reviews and rate healthcare facilities, clinics and pharmacies. The directory would  publish trusted  crowd-sourced reviews about the various healthcare providers. Additionally, the directory offers the ability to connect to various healthcare providers with relevant information and links. Given its social nature, the platform promotes transparency and competition which enables the highest quality services. The platform would focus not only on hospitals and clinics but pharmacies and insurance companies as well covering the entire healthcare ecosystem.

USE CASE

JOURNEY

Ahmed is a young man who takes care of his elderly parents. Since his parents suffer from several health problems, it is sometimes time-consuming and complicated for him to find the best doctor for them. One day, he hears from a friend about Al Madinah Health Directory initiative.

With just a few taps, after downloading the app on his smartphone, Ahmed registers and creates profiles for his parents, enters their medical conditions and details and gets access to a repository of healthcare services, practitioners and facilities around him. As he starts using the app, he, in his turn, starts posting reviews on it, rates healthcare facilities, and continuously checks others’ reviews, feedback and ratings.

Later in the week, he reads about a new treatment that proved effective in reducing back pains for a great number of patients. As the treatment is not available at their preferred clinic, Ahmed navigates through reviews and recommendations on all facilities in the city that offer the treatment. He is led to Dr. Khan, who has a 5/5 stars rating, and taps to book an appointment for his mother.
