Urban Micro-Mobility Solutions Platform “Jawlat Al Madinah”

“Jawlat Al Madinah”, meaning Al Madinah tour in Arabic, is a platform for micro-mobility solutions such as e-scooters and e-bikes aimed at transforming the way commuters interact with urban landscapes. The platform is established as a community sharing app for renting micro-mobility solutions such as bikes and scooters for temporary use across the city. With the need to create a more walkable city and leverage public transportation, this platform will solve the problem of the first and last mile, which refers to the distance a commuter needs to travel from a transit stop to their destination. It would allow users to pick-up and drop-off micro-mobility vehicles at strategically located stations and increase public transport stations accessibility. Payment for this service can be done through the users’ smartphones. Moreover, tracking the data collected from urban micro-mobility solutions will enable Al Madinah city to properly plan and manage the demand on these solutions, enhance urban design and enable the city to launch car-free days during festivals and open markets along with dedicated pedestrian zones for some cultural sites across the city.
